Elicio Winery Vermentino

Made by Xavier Logette, this is a charming Southern Rhone expression of Vermentino. The strikingly clear pale-yellow hues build anticipation for aromas of saline, herbs, citrus, and tropical fruit. Those same flavors are expressed on the full-bodied palate as notes of honeydew melon, soft pear, olive oil and garrigue also emerge to fill out this refreshing wine. Elicio Vermentino finishes with a gentle acidity and a persistent hint of salt. One of our favorite anytime, any occasion wines as it pairs beautifully with oysters, scallops, Mediterranean-style seafood, slightly spicy dishes, and fresh shell bean entrees.

Domaine Beausejour Les Grenettes Sauvignon Blanc

At Domaine Beauséjour, four generations of winegrowers built a legacy where the vine and the wine express themselves completely. Nowadays, Philippe and Véronique Trotignon continue with the same pledge to respect tradition, enhanced with a concern for the long-term health of the land. Domaine Beausejour is located in the Loire Valley, nestled in a region called the Touraine where Sauvignon Blanc flourishes, albeit in the shadow of its neighbor: Sancerre. A swirl of the glass releases delicate lily, boxwood, and honeysuckle botanical notes that complement peach and lychee aromatics. With a velvety texture and well-integrated graceful acidity this Sauvignon Blanc is both lively and supple. A snap of chalky minerality followed by a round, full finish that lingers long enough to enjoy the floral aromatics that embrace the luscious golden stone fruit. A natural pairing with cheeses (chèvre, ricotta, gouda, and feta), a fresh herb omelet, hearty salad, or as a sipping style.

Whoa Nelly Pinot Blanc

Helioterra is an artisan urban winery owned by Anne Hubatch (pronounced “who-baatch”) in SE Portland, Oregon. Anne releases her spunky free-spirited “Whoa Nelly” wines from her winery. Whoa Nelly Pinot Blanc captures the regional and varietal characteristics of the Willamette Valley while being accessible and easy-going. From a selection of top-notch Northwest vineyards Anne crafts her wines which she describes as “a grounded, honest expression of her winemaking style, reflecting feminine sensibilities.” This Willamette Valley Pinot Blanc is a refreshing and perky surprise, backed by the perfect balance of stone fruit and citrus. With the subtler white peach and flowers tethered by pluckier notes of orange blossom, kaffir lime and minerality, and a broad mid-palate that offers ripe melon and a hint of zest, this wine will knock your boots right off!

Lafken Winery Riesling

The Lafken Riesling is a delightful surprise! This off-dry Riesling made by Miguel Besoain in the mild, ocean influenced Casablanca Valley in Chile delivers intense aromas of chamomile, lemon flowers, apricot and quince. On the palate the charismatic notes of citrus, green apple and juicy apricots are concentrated yet vividly fresh on the finish.  The off-dry fruit finish is supported by firm acidity that makes this wine a happy food pairing with grilled salmon or shrimp, glazed ham or a cheese & fruit plate.

Bodkin Winery The Hill & Vale Red Blend

A brand new release from Chris Christensen: a very crushable, light-bodied red wine that loves a gentle chill! This is a blend of Zinfandel, Barbera and Muscat Canelli from both hillside and valley floor vineyards. The hillside Barbera from the Dorn-Las Lomas Vineyard (1,700 ft elevation) and the Zinfandel from High Rock Ranch (2,000 ft elevation) brought concentration, structure and acidity to the blend. The Zinfandel from the Patsekos Vineyard in the flats of the Ukiah Valley brought jammy aromas and bright fruit to the party…and the Muscat from Sandy Bend Vineyard? Yeah, that was just a bit of razzle-dazzle Chris added to lift the aromatics and add a bit of width to the mid-palate. This Hill & Vale Blend is crisp and focused; red and blackberry flavors abound accented with sweet vanilla from 25% new French Oak. Drink The Hill + Vale either at cellar temp or chill it down and enjoy it on a hot day. It's totally crushable either way. Only 274 cases crafted. Bodkin is a Black-Owned Winery.

Mas Etoile Petite Etoile Malbec

Mas des Étoiles was born in 2007 from a partnership formed between two friends. The winery, located in the heart of the Cahors appellation in France is divided into 2.5 acres of white wine and 12 acres of reds. Winemaker Arnaud Bladinières and his 30-year-old Malbec vines take Cahors into the present day releasing a modern and unoaked expression of Cahors Malbec while preserving its classic roots. An intense nose of ripe, juicy red and dark fruits, and a touch of fresh earth and graphite. Etoile’s mysterious dark fruit palate has a solid structure but very soft, well-integrated tannins. This is a modern Malbec from Cahors which will pair well with grilled meats, red sauces and hearty slow-cooked stews.

Kiona Vineyard Sangiovese

In 1975 the Williams family planted the first vineyard on Red Mountain, an area now known for producing some of the world’s most powerful, opulent wines of distinction. For three generations the family has worked together on their farm to grow vineyard-driven wines that capture the essence of their Red Mountain estates. The Ranch at the End of the Road Sangiovese block features a steep grade and is located on the wind-side of a north-south windbreak. It’s a top pick location on Red Mountain and produces fantastically charming wines.

The vintage: 2021 saw some of the warmest temperatures on record in the Red Mountain area, particularly early in the growing season. Quality across the board is high, with many growers on Red Mountain noting the surprisingly nice acidities given the powerful ripening season. Yields were lower than expected. Sangiovese is an extremely versatile grape that has near universal appeal for red wine drinkers. On Red Mountain Sangiovese expresses racy and bright, with vibrant red fruit character and trademark minerality. Its ample acidity makes this wine a food-pairing superstar, able to complement a wide array of foods, most harmoniously with hand-made pasta & red sauce. *91 points ~ James Suckling

Bodkin Winery Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc

A much awaited release from Bodkin Winery as it’s been 8 years since Chris crafted a Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes for this wine were harvested late in the 2021 season from Springer Vineyards in Big Valley at 40+ brix...pretty much as raisins. While the yields were small, the flavors are anything but - this is like a liquid pineapple upside down cake in a glass. Pineapple layers with a lovely viscosity cradled by the natural 15.3% residual sugar. While that number may seem staggering it totally works in the context of the wine which has a level of acidity (TA) at 9.1 g/L that keeps the wine balanced and steers clear of it being becoming cloying on the palate. Pour this wine nectar alongside a plate of cheese & fruit, mango cheesecake or as your dessert course with your favorite company. Only 164 cases crafted. Bodkin is a Black-Owned Winery.
