Husband and wife duo Oscar and Dona Chacon have been pioneers of the honey processing method at the Cumbres del Poas micro mill in Costa Rica since 2009. For those unfamiliar, this method exists between the washed and natural processing methods, and involves leaving the coffee cherry on the seed until it reaches a certain color in order to give the final product a natural, sweet finish.

The black honey in particular also enhances the bean's body strength, giving this brew a fuller body than the other Costa Rican beans that we offer. Done to our classic full city (light) roast level, you can expect a bright finish, thanks to the bean's high acidity, and notes of blueberry and pineapple.
